As women, we are responsible to play so many roles in our day to day lives. Last week, I found myself with a list of things to do. My intention was to accomplish everything on my list, but as I was being pulled in a thousand directions I have to say I did not get much done.
I had to focus on my children, work a full time job, develop my brand, clean my house, do a pile of laundry, plan a party, exercise, go food shopping and cook dinner, pack my children's bag, answer a ton of emails, make a ton of phone calls, develop the details for the contest taking place in Brazil, work on my website, ect.ect.ect.
WHEW! A little overwhelming and although for a moment I would have loved to jump in my bath tub and say" Calgon, Take me away!" I had no choice, but to find the strength, keep some type of balance and do the best I could to get as much done as possible. I was in need of a warriors mentality and strength.
How do we do it all Ladies? Where do we learn how to be all the roles we are expected to be?
Where do we get the time to do it all? And how do we keep up without losing our minds along the way? It must be that we are modern day WARRIORS.
Have a great weekend!

How true this is! Women are expected to do so much and to do it with a smile on their face and maintain a great mood. The lists never end but better yet when you finish one list and feel accomplished things just keep getting added over and over again. I don't have children so I couldn't imagine throwing that into the mix but I do know first hand how woman are expected to take on so many different rolls. Best thing to do (which I don't) is to ask for help. This is very difficult for me because I take pride in being a strong idependent woman and when I ask for help i feel like a failure! Maybe we should both work on trying to ask for help more often to take some stuff off of our lists and know taht we are still strong independent good women who always mean well. Keep fighting warrior and remember that all this hard work will pay off in the end :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Colleen for sharing some great advice for all of us. No where in my blog I mentioned asking for help. I think most of us forget to do that or like you said feel weak or a failure when asking. Some great advice from one WARRIOR to another.
